Today, as we battle a case of the Mondays, I want you to de-stress by meditating on the single thing that unites all of our souls as a human race. Some might say it is “love”, but I have commitment issues so I am going to go with the true unifier, music. Not everyone has as educated a musical palette as I, and not everyone understands the deep and intense feelings that can only be evoked by a playlist consisting of only Chicago (the Peter Cetera era) and Kylie Minogue. So I decided to take it upon myself to keep everyone au courant with the music scene and find one more thing to add to your very own summer playlist, that you can casually but sincerely bump to on your joy rides and road trips this summer. I want everyone to sit back, relax, and take a little ride with Angie.
My taste in music is like my personality, super random. I will listen to just about anything – from rap to alternative, and everything in between.
I have a hard time choosing a favorite genre because if a song catches my attention, regardless on the genre, I will legally download it.
I rarely enjoy “screamo,” with the exception of Things that Rhyme with Orange by I Set My Friends on Fire.
“Wisconsin summer is in full-effect – which means my body is uncomfortably sweaty all of the time. To make the mo(i)st out of summer (Editor’s note: sick, Angie!), compiling a list of songs for a playlist is a must when jamming with the windows down or laying out by the pool. Here are some of my favorite summery songs that you need to add to your favorite Apple product this summer. In alphabetical order:”

- Anything on the Chingy Pandora playlist
Sidenote: A month ago, I would’ve added “Fancy” by Iggy Izalea and that new JT song, “Not A Bad Thing”, but since the radio overplays them so damn much, I politely removed them from my jams.
Currently, my favorite song can be summed up in twelve words, “This whip is mine but I drive it like I stole it.” It is number fifteen on my list, Numb by August Alsina feat. B.o.B, Yo Gotti. My brother claims that “they play it on the radio to promote designated drivers.” And if you really listen to the lyrics in the midst of the ‘getting faded and goin’ home with bitches’ portion of the song, he is kind of right. It is always good to promote safe driving during the summer months! Don’t drink and drive people! Also, you cannot not dance to this song.
Well there you have it, folks. She is totally right about Numb, by the way. And not only that, but the Chingy Pandora station is so genius that I am murdering myself inside for not thinking of it myself. I think for tonight I will put away my ColdPlaylist, Pompeiilist, and related brilliantly titled lists, to try out Angie’s. At the very least I will listen to Numb one-hundred times on repeat after hijacking my mom’s new convertible. Wish me luck.
