Mary Did You Know that this song is everything?
Happy second day of the (hashtag) 25 Days of Blogmas, everyone! I feel like you’ve been waiting all day for me to post? But I have this problem with being on time in that I don’t like to be. So there.
In preparation for unveiling my Christmas List tomorrow–which has proved to be a tremendous task–I needed a themed playlist to keep me going. Because if you didn’t know, making themed playlists to shuffle while blogging is par for the course at One More Thing with KP.
After listening to a mentally assaulting amount of Jim Brickman and Amy Grant, I decided that I needed something fresh and inspiring. Something that so obviously needed to be … a capella. And um, have I found it.
Normally I would tell you that this kind of Christmas “music” has bad energy and is to be avoided at all costs. However, Pentatonix made an all a cappella version of “Mary Did You Know?” and not only is the song hauntingly beautiful and spine chilling, but it’s like, super spiritually fulfilling. And the video is gorgeous so just let it take you over, ok?
I’m feeling faint from all of the energy I’ve expended while letting this song rock my life. Use it as One More Thing you can add to your holiday playlist, if you can figure out how to break down your toxic walls of insecurity and actually play a song performed a cappella.
Do you like? Do you love? Yeah? Knew it.
