Whether you choose to live under a rock of purity or just haven’t heard of it yet, let me introduce you to my favorite Friday ritual and one more thing to listen to this week, Guys We F****d: The Anti Slut-Shaming Podcast.
This showboat is driven by two NYC-based stand up comics, Corinne Fisher and Krystyna Hutchinson, whose show is equal parts sex, feminism, and intellectual comedy. The show is a lot of storytelling, channeling us through sexual questions and complexities that include (but are not limited to): having a threesome with your live-in life partner, discovering a sex club, asking Andy Dick about how he was once so super gay and is seriously no longer gay at all? All really important.
And while all of that information is truly good for both body and soul, what is really important about this podcast is its hand in giving a voice to conversations that need to be had.
Serious concerns surrounding addiction, prostitution, the porn industry, suicide, mental illness, abortions, homelessness: these are all themes that need a platform for discussion in the modern era. Also, hearing about sex in an honest, guilt-free way is imperative for both men and women in today’s society. Ob-vi-ous-ly.
And if nothing else, listening to them interview guys that they’ve, well, f****d, is a great way to pass the time on my hour-long commute from work.
My favorite episodes to get you started read as follows:
1. Episode 54 – Andy Dick Interview in Rehab
2. Episode 8 – When Was the First Time You Fell in Love? With Amber Rose
3. Episode 21 – The Stoya Episode
4. Episode 27 – Harrison: She Gave You a Reluctant Blow Job?
You can find them on iTunes, here, with a new podcast every Friday morning.
I am comfortable leaving you today, firm in the knowledge that you will enjoy this podcast as much as I have. If not, please direct any and all hate mail to them and not to me.
