I hope you all watched Kimmel Wednesday night, but if you haven’t I want you to know that IT IS REAL AND KANYE IS NOT SURE YOU CAN HANDLE IT. If you have, I’m sure you are asking the same question that I am and that is, how many more of Ye’s “I’m a genius” rants are we going to have to endure? I am hoping for a lot of them actually, because even though he is maybe the biggest asshole in the modern celebrity sphere, he is f**king entertaining.
I was already in TV mode for the premier of American Horror Story, which by the way was SO GOOD as obviously expected. If you’ve never watched, I promise you that Jessica Lange, alone, will make you a fan. Addie Singer Emma Roberts was pretty good, too. It’ll be an interesting season, just don’t ask me to sit through the opening credits. I can’t and I won’t.
Now, on to Jimmy! I’ve never watched an episode of Jimmy Kimmel in my life, mostly because he wasn’t funny at the Emmy’s last year so I figured he was a bust. That, and talk shows aren’t my thing. Tonight was a rare exception because I have a weakness for rap drama and I’m sorry, but if that’s wrong I don’t want to be right.
My first thought when Kanye came on was; this is the weirdest episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians I’ve ever seen. My second thought was only confirming what I already knew about Kanye; God, this guy is humble. Within minutes of the interview, he proclaims, “I’m a creative genius. There’s no other way to put it. If I was to say I wasn’t a genius I would be lying to you and to myself.” While it makes me want to honestly puke that someone thinks that of himself, I kind of agree with him. He’s a brilliant musical talent and a visionary (and an unquestionably huge asshole.)
I made the comment yesterday that his diction was sexy during his interview, and it was, but I’m not going to elaborate because my friends are still ridiculing me for carrying such an unpopular opinion (whatever Kanye, it was hot).
Just watch it. Otherwise you won’t understand the genius and why Kim needs a star on the walk of fame!!!!!!!!!! Watch the whole episode because every part of it was amusing. Maybe a little uncomfortable, too, but worth it.
North will have a lot of questions someday. And when that day comes and she is embarrassed of this, one more thing she can do is remember that she is not alone having embarrassing parents on camera. For example, little Violet Affleck is going to have to watch J-Lo’s “Jenny from the Block” situation one day.
